You will be working in a cross-functional, dynamic, project-based environment, dealing with various assembly techniques like welding, mechanical and adhesive bonding, metallization and coating techniques.

who you are

• MBO education in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or mechatronics. Experience with plastics processing & testing is a plus.
• Eager to learn with a “can do” mentality.
• Good communication skills and team player.
• Preferably Dutch speaking but English is also fine

what will you do

• Execute experiments related to assembly, painting and various bonding techniques to support product or application developments. This includes paint adhesion, welding and vacuum metallization.
• Evaluate chemical resistance performance (glues, chemicals, paints) of molded plastic parts, either true customer (representative) parts or model parts through standardized or newly defined methods.
• Perform molding experiments together with requestor and/or customer on a variety of plastics and intended end-use applications and different molding machines.
• Ensure proper documentation of trials, including analysis of data, and report out to requestor.

The Bergen op Zoom Application Technology team within SABIC works closely with the commercial team, product development team and customers to ensure successful development and application of our plastics. The team stays on top and develops state of the art knowledge in the areas of plastics processing, secondary operations such as painting and plating, application testing and computer aided design and engineering. Currently a vacancy exists for an application and material physics Technician. You will be working in a cross-functional, dynamic, project-based environment, dealing with various assembly techniques like welding, mechanical and adhesive bonding, metallization and coating techniques.
